“Forest bathing” is a practice to improve our health and well-being that is rooted in Nature and backed by science. Many of us engage in it unknowingly when we are out on a hike or when we spend time in Nature. Don’t let the term “bathing” fool you, forest bathing is most simply defined as immersing oneself in Nature. The beneficial effect of being surrounded by trees in a forest is of great value to our nervous system, immune system, cardiovascular system, and overall health. When we forest bathe, we are steeping our senses in the aromatic compounds released by the trees, and cocooning ourselves in the diverse microbiome of the forest.
